So for Halloween, Julia was an Eagles' cheerleader. It was quite an easy costume, I must say. Grandmom bought Julia this little Eagles dress and onesie just because she knew Andy would like it. But when I saw it, I thought that it would be easy to turn into a Halloween costume. So after looking in many stores, I made some pom-poms from ribbon and put in some pigtails and ribbon and off we went!!!

So we were getting ready and taking pictures and it turns out that our camera decided it didn't want to work! Of course! So I was all upset that we wouldn't have any pictures of Julia on Halloween. So we had to revert back to the disposable cameras days. Picked up a disposable camera and actually got a few good shots! We went to dinner at Boonies (great restaurant by the way!!) and then went to the Westside Community Center for a little Halloween party. Julia seemed to have a good time, even though she was too young for most of the fun stuff. Although she was kissing on the boys while we were there! We saw a friend there whose son is about 8 months old. Julia was lovin' her some Frankie!! Andy grounded her when we got home!!

So I got home one night this week and Andy says, "Oh this thing actually works, Julia could read the word clap on there." I give him my 'oh, yeah right' look and he says, "no, really". So he goes on to explain that there was a cartoon picture of a baby's head and just the word clap written on the screen and when it came on, Julia began clapping. So I continue with my 'ok, whatever' look.
So as we are sitting there, it comes on and the same thing happens. The word is on there, and Julia starts clapping. So I point out the fact that she watches this every night and I'm sure she has it memorized (the commercial shows a baby clapping after they show the word on the screen). Andy says, "OK, we are going to test this out." So he goes into the kitchen and writes 'clap' on a piece of paper and brings it out to Julia. He asks her what it says and she makes a funny sound like she is trying to read it, but it sounds nothing like what it should. So Andy and I start cracking up laughing and then Julia starts laughing. Andy asks her again what the word says and she makes another sound and we all start laughing again. This must have happened at least 3 times!
It was the funniest thing and I totally wished we would have gotten it on video camera. So we have always known that Julia is too smart for her own good, but we definitely learned that she can't read!! Later, another commercial came on that was similar, only this product was for different languages. Andy walked by and said, yeah, Julia knows French too! We just cracked up laughing!!

This is adorable and I have knew those babies were just memorizing those words! Cheaters.
She's so cute in the uniform! Love it! And I'm not surprised she can read, she is brilliant!
