We thought we had to baby proof before!! Our entertainment center is just open shelves, so we have picture frames and knick-knacks on the bottom shelf. So Andy said, "Well, I guess we are going to have to move all of our stuff off of the bottom shelves." And I responded, "No, she is going to learn that she can't play with that stuff." So of course she spots that stuff and goes right for it, so everytime she would reach out for it, I would give her the "ah" so she would know not to touch it. So we did this maybe 3 times right in a row and sure enough, she burst into tears!! The tears weren't quite as bad as the time I told Anna (when she was little) she couldn't write on Grandmom and Pop's living room carpet, but there was definitely a tantrum in the making! Eventually I think I just distracted her with something else and all was right with the world again! We will see which philosophy will win out!!
I also had my first "uh oh" moment this morning. Every morning we come downstairs, we feed Mia, then we feed Julia, then Julia plays with her toys in the living room as I eat my breakfast. So I was eating and watching TV and I looked up to check on her and she wasn't there! Panic set in for about half of a second when I saw her on the other side of the recliner trying to pull herself up! She has also almost perfected the preparing herself to land on her butt. She is getting pretty good at that as well!
Here are her and Daddy dancing tonight!

And here is her rock star hair!! Proof that she really did get Mommy's hair...poor girl!

Congratulations Julia on becoming MOBILE! Good luck Mom and Dad!!!
Courtney - I do believe it is possible to teach them not to touch certain things .. when Kristen was a baby we actually had a wine rack in the kitchen LOADED with wine and amazingly she never once went for it.
The pictures are too cute! And I am LOVIN' that hair!!!
