A GREAT Day in "The Nation"

The last time the Yankees missed the playoffs, I was dating Katie and working at Eastern Fastener. Courtney was a high school sophomore. And Julia was something that I hoped I wouldn't have to deal with anytime soon!

It seemed anti-climactic, but I'm as happy today about the Yankees missing the playoffs as I am about the Red Sox (officially) getting in. And I'm even more happy that Tampa Bay was the non-traditional playoff team to knock them out, doing it with hard work and young talent instead of money.

Coincidentally, blogger has a new feature that I just discovered today. It's called "followers" and it's a place on your blog where people that read it regularly can be noted. I'm proud to say that when I logged today, we had one follower...the Walters! So I added this feature to the blog, but I didn't want to call it "followers", so in honor of this great day in baseball history, we're calling our blog readers "The Nation"!

This weekend, I had the pleasure of dressing Julia. Instead of diving into the drawer for another onesy that we've seen before, I decided to sift through the closet for something new. There I saw it...her first Red Sox T-Shirt...on it went. What else to you wear with a t-shirt on a nice late summer day, but jeans...on they went.

I stepped back to admire my work, as it is usually a real challenge for me to dress Julia (and I can't wait for her to get older to help me!), but this time I was really proud. Just then it occurred to me...I dressed her up like a boy! Immediately I put pink socks on her to balance the outfit. Phew! It was all good now!
