Now this was an adventure! We decided to give Julia her first "bath" last night. Momma had wiped her down previously, but this was the first real full-body, soap and water experience of Julia's life. But it wasn't so much a bath as it was Daddy holding her, while Momma washed her off.
I'm holding her over the sink such that Courtney can wash her lower body first and that's when it started. Courtney gets this look on her face that was somewhere between fear and laughter and announces and I quote, "Oh my God! She's pooping!"
Not knowing what to do, I slide my hand a little further up her back and hold her over the bath water. Courtney says, "No! Don't do that! Bring her over here!" And we set off racing across the house with a pooping naked baby in tow so that we can get her onto a changing pad to let her finish taking care of business. It's nights like this that make you wonder what your neighbors might be thinking if they happen to look out thier window...but wait, it gets better!!!
We return to the bath, catastrophy avoided and Courtney starts washing her. We're almost done with the bath, as Momma has started washing the head and face. Just then the thought occurs to me, why am I feeling warm water on my hand that is under her butt when Momma's washing the other end? That's right! Our little princess tried to poop and pee on us in a time span of less than 10 minutes!!!
I'm thinking that this might be a good story to share over dinner when she brings a boyfriend home for the first time...you know, when she's like 40!!!

You have officially been inducted into parenthood. It isn't official until you get pooped and peed on! That's a classic for years to come! Luke is excited to come and see you guys! He even picked some stuff out for Julia!
That is classic. I wish I could have been there. I can hear Courtney's laugh now.

Ok people. This was funny ....the first 14 times I read it. What's the deal? Can you please post something new?? I thought the baby was sleeping in three or four hour blocks? Got something better to do with your time ;)
