Courtney's Take...Part 2

Ok, so it's been a week since the class, but I'll try to remember how it went down. As Andy mentioned, he was sick. Not to mention grumpy and distracted by the wrestling tournament that was going on. Did I mention that he was grumpy?!? So the teacher starts out with a little review of what we had done the last week and she has a couple of stories that we have to figure out what to do next based on what we learned in the last class. Well this makes Andy mad because his super sponge of a brain remembers everything (except what I seem to tell him) and he doesn't need to review (so he tells me)!! And then the "Breathe" slide pops up on her powerpoint. So she says ok, lets practice our breathing. Andy looks right at me and says "No, I'm not doing this." So of course, this makes me mad! And I look at the couples that are sitting in front of us and their husbands are being all supportive and helping their wives breathe and my husband is sitting here not even looking at me because he is grumpy and doesn't want to participate! So I'm guessing Andy could tell how mad I was because he started to play along a little bit! So instead of saying In-2-3-4 Out 2-3-4 like he was supposed to, he says "isn't this what we practiced for 4 hours last week for-3-4 Out 2-3-4." Again...super sponge brain...doesn't need review! So after we were done practicing, the teacher says, ok, let your partner know how they did. So I said, "you are being a jacka$$" and then the teacher says, "I wish you would...." and we fill in the blank. So I said "I wish you would...stop being a jacka$$" He definitely got the point after that!

So the morning was relatively uneventful for the most part. We had a couple of guest speakers and eventually we went to lunch. So during lunch I gave Andy the lecture of how everyone learns differently, not everyone remembers things the first time they are taught and how he should know this considering he, at some point during all of the years he was in college, thought he wanted to be a P.E. teacher. Granted, as Liz tells us, we won't use any of this breathing or relaxation crap when the time actually comes, but I figured we were there and might as well play along.

So after lunch Andy got to wear the "belly", which I thought he was going to say he wasn't going to do that either, considering his grumpiness, but he did it with no remarks. The funny thing was instead of putting on one of the hideous shirts the teacher offered, he put his Red Sox jacket back on, so you really couldn't tell he was wearing it. I think this is why he wore it for an hour, because the teacher kept forgetting that he had it on, because she couldn't see it. But as he put in his post, it was harder than he thought!

We only did one relaxation time during the afternoon, which was pretty uneventful. Andy behaved himself and I didn't feel like the bad kids in class who couldn't behave. The funniest part was when someone else's husband started snoring, only I don't think he was playing around. I actually think he fell asleep!! I was just glad it wasn't my husband!!

We finished the class with the hospital tour. It seemed pretty nice and I'm just glad that I won't really have to find my way around. I know where we go in and I think I know where we leave (no, it isn't the same spot), but I'm just glad that I won't have to navigate through it often. I just hope Andy was paying close attention!

On a side note, the nursery is almost finished!! I know, I can't believe it. I hope it is finished soon because our dining room is piling up with all sorts of baby stuff and we need an actual home for all of it! We'll post some pictures soon so you all can see!
