The Piedmont Triad & Rock Band!

Last weekend we ventured down to Winston-Salem, NC to visit Kenny and Amanda Beck. They are friends of ours that we met here in Salisbury. About six months ago, they moved to W-S in a career move. Kenny is Ron Burgundy (that's right...a real live anchorman!) and took advantage of a move to a significantly larger market.

Anyhow, we met them here in Salisbury. Amanda and I worked together and after a while, we began hanging out as couples. It didn't take long to realize that they were just as demented as we were and we shared many common interests like Settlers, Beer, Turtle Bites and Living Room Furniture (we actually unknowingly bought the same living room furniture as they had).

Now boy did they have quite a weekend planned for us! Little did we know that when we got there we would be playing in a rock band (on PS3) and eating in every restaurant in the Triad Region (still don't really know why they call it that)! Friday night was great! Amanda made us dinner and then we played Rock Band!

LBMF took right to the drums! (Liz...don't you dare get any gift ideas!) He possessed Momma as she rocked out all night on the drums! Funny part was...she was great!

I chose a more relaxing role as lead singer and beer taster!

On Saturday, I think they took us to every restaurant that they knew about! We had excellent Bagels, Pizza, Wings, BBQ, Italian, Chinese, Greek, Mexican, and then dinner! OK I'm exaggerating a little but we legitimately had 4 meals and they were all GREAT!

Top that off with a tour of Wake Forest and (contrary to Amanda's curse) a really smooth drive in both directions and it was a fantastic weekend!

Thanks to the Becks for having us! The visit was far too short!

So that you can be knowledgeable when you move down to be our neighbors, the Triad (or Piedmont Triad for long)is referred to as such because there are four primary cities in the area: Winston-Salem, Greensboro, Highpoint and Burlington. DUH! Seriously though...only in the south could four cities be called a triad.

Thanks for the visit Wisks. I am glad to hear you had such a blast.

Readers should not that Court and LBMF were not only good at drums, they rocked some serious guitar!
