Some time ago, we agreed that if we were ever to have a girl that we wanted to name her Julia. We both like the name and there is even some family significance. I even went so far as to ask Liz to steer clear of it (turns out to be easy for her, as the Klimkiewicz boys only have boys) and she agreed.
One night, shortly after we found out that we were expecting, Courtney asks what I think of the name Julia Elizabeth. I loved it! Shortly thereafter, my beautiful bride realized that Julia Elizabeth would have the initials J.E.W....at least for the first portion of her life. Fearing the potential for a traumatic middle school experience for a child with those initials, Court has come full circle and is frantically for a different middle name.I take a different view on this. I think every child has a traumatic middle school experience! Kids are cruel at times. I don't think that possible (yet inevitable in some form) youth cruelty at age 11 warrants passing on what would be a very nice name.
Here's the question...blog reader...what do you think? Should we avoid J.E.W? Maybe in favor of J.A.W? (what if she has an overbite?) Or should we worry less about initials and go with a name that we like?
Post a comment and let us know what you think!
P.S. Courtney plans to post soon! She tried to yesterday, but the internet wasn't working properly. I fear that she has something amusing to say about my nursery renovations!
P.P.S. The picture above has nothing to do with this post...it's just LBMF's favorite left fielder taking the field. Spring Training starts this week!!!!

I think you should go with Julia Elizabeth. I think it is a beautiful. Besides, (sorry Court, I should have warned you before you married my brother), any child with Andy as his/her dad will be made fun of. :-)
I also like Julia Elizabeth. In fact both are names that I have had in mind for our future tot. But Kenny doesn't approve of any name that I mention so when the time comes our child will be nameless.
I don't think kids are too quick to pick up on initials. I mean how often does one go around broadcasting their middle name?
I vote: Julia Elizabeth. Its beautiful.
Julia Isabel is pretty too and has a similar sound if you are scared. ;o)
I still think Becky-Sue would be a great name and honor both grandmothers. Julia Elizabeth is a very nice name and has a nice flow to it...but you could consider Florence for the middle name. Besides no one uses the middle name except when you are yelling at the child like...ANDREW PETER GET YOUR BUTT OVER HERE!!!
I think that is a beautiful combo! (I am also blessed with both of those names - Julia is my middle name and Elizabeth is my confirmation name). And, from experience, I can't recall ever just using the girl's initials, but, I do think you should hold off on buying her that monogramed backpack. Might cause some trouble at school. :)
And, by the way .. I am lovin' your bloggin'!! Very entertaining stuff and it's great to keep up with you guys!!!
Wisk your sister hit the nail on the head. That poor child will be scarred for life w/ you being her/his father. Oh and Louie wants to know why he can't post pictures of his stomach is Jones is posting pictures of hers?
Just out of curiosity...if it is a boy...is his name going to be Louie Jr?????
i vote yay! what a cute name, but i'm partial to that middle name choice.
love, amy elizabeth.
Hey, C&A...I have not seen a response to my choice of names...Never ignore the Mother ot Mother-in-law...
Becky-Sue and Louie Jr. sound wonderful! We will closely consider both. I'm sure it will be a tough decision!
